Responsible Tourism Policy

At Peneda ecofarm, the concern with the satisfaction and well-being of those who visit us is a central issue to our values.

The Peneda ecofarm, located on the fringes of the Peneda – Gerês National Park, is an organic certified farm. Within the scope of ecotourism, we organize programs of activities to discover the nature, culture and gastronomy of Northern Portugal and Galicia.

The entity has the recognition of nature tourism and follows the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization) guidelines for sustainable tourism.

The unique patrimony of the fauna and flora of the Peneda – Gerês National Park, combined with villages full of traditions, deserve our respect and concern to reduce the impact of our activity, contributing positively to the dynamism of the local economy and the appreciation of what it’s ours and genuine.

It is in this context that we are committed to carrying out a sustainable management of the farm and our activities, optimizing our behavior towards the environment, fulfilling the requirements established in the Biosphere reference, motivating and training our team to the principles of Responsible Tourism and promote good sustainability practices, with the involvement of our people, from customers to partners, from staff to suppliers, as well as continuing to guarantee the health safety of our space.

It is also, bearing in mind this respect for the Human Being and the Environment, that we commit ourselves to fight against any form of exploitation or discrimination, particularly against minorities, to include improvement objectives within the scope of accessibility for all, regardless of their incapacity and therefore seek continuous evolution in all areas of sustainability: social, economic and environmental, as well as customer satisfaction.

This Responsible Tourism Policy will be updated whenever circumstances require, adopting and publishing new sustainability objectives in both cases.
